Hilary completed a BA Honors in Social work at Wits followed by a BA Honors in Psychology from UNISA.
During her internship she worked at Phoenix House Drug Rehabilitation Centre and then went on to work in a clinical setting at Tara Hospital (the H. Moross Center) in the eating disorder unit.
Hilary worked for several years in the NGO sector in Child and Family services rendering the full spectrum of individual, couple, family, group, community and systemic services. In this capacity Hilary has worked extensively in statutory matters, preparing court reports as well as appearance in Court on matters of child protection and committals for mental health care users. Hilary is therefore offay with the relevant Acts relating to Substance Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation and renders committal services to treatment as well as supervision of contact where indicated in family reunification services pertaining to the reconstitution of families who have been disrupted as a result of addiction.
Hilary has also undergone extensive training in mediation in divorce and formulation of parenting plans. Hilary has also been involved in the academic sector serving as a teaching assistant.
